How do I report a problem with an asset?

Issues (squawks, defects, damage) are reported against an asset so the group sees them, tracks them, and links them to maintenance when they get fixed.

Reporting

1. Open Issues and click Report Issue (any member can report)
2. Pick the asset and a severity: low, medium or high
3. Choose a category; categories adapt to the asset type (an aircraft offers avionics and structural, a yacht offers rigging, sails and plumbing)
4. Describe the problem and attach up to 5 photos
5. Submit; the issue gets a code and appears in the list

Following up

• Admins move the status: open, in progress, resolved, and add resolution notes
• An issue can be linked to the maintenance record that fixed it, keeping the paper trail complete
• Filter the list by status or severity, or search by title, asset or issue code

Good to know

• High-severity issues deserve a message to the group too; reporting does not ground an asset by itself, grounding is controlled by admins and by overdue maintenance
• Reporting and editing are disabled in demo groups
