How do I use Messages for group conversations?
Leden
Messages keeps group conversations inside Kai, organised as threads that can be tied to a specific asset, so decisions stay searchable instead of vanishing in a chat app.
Starting a conversation
- Open Messages and click New
- Give the thread a title ("Fuel card for the Cirrus", "Winter lift-out planning")
- Write the first message and optionally link an asset so the context is obvious
- Create it; members can reply right away
In a thread
- Reply from the composer at the bottom
- Attach a photo with the image icon
- React to any message with an emoji; reactions are aggregated on the message
- Unread badges show which threads have news, and clear when you open them
Keeping things findable
- Search threads by title, description or asset
- Pin the threads you keep coming back to; pinned ones sort first
- Link threads to assets so a trip debrief or a repair discussion stays attached to the right machine
Good to know
- Threads are group-wide: every member sees every thread, and there are no private direct messages
- For one-way official notices use the Bulletin Board instead; Messages is the two-way space
