How does asset-specific access control work?
AdministrationMembres
Asset-specific access control lets group owners restrict which members can book or view specific assets.
How it works
- By default, all group members can access all assets
- Owners and admins can assign specific members to specific assets
- Once members are assigned to an asset, only those members can book it
- Admins and owners always have access to all assets
Use cases
- High-value assets: restrict expensive aircraft to experienced pilots
- Specialised equipment: limit access to certified operators
- Training assets: separate student aircraft from owner aircraft
- Location-based restrictions: assets in different cities for different members
Access levels
- No members assigned: all group members can book (default)
- Members assigned: only assigned members + admins/owners can book
- Viewing vs booking: members may still see assets they can't book
Managing asset access
- Open the asset detail page
- Click the Members tab
- Click Add member to assign access
- Select members who should have access
- Remove members to revoke access
Important notes
- The Members tab appears on an asset once your group has more than one asset, and only for admins. With a single asset there is nothing to restrict, so the tab stays hidden
- Asset members don't affect group membership: removing asset access doesn't remove someone from the group
- Asset access is independent of role permissions — admins and owners always override restrictions
